Police appeal after donkey stolen

BBC

Several donkeys have been stolen recently

Police have appealed for information after a donkey was taken from land at Claudy in County Derry.

The donkey is described as brown, is about five-years-old and was taken from a field off the Foreglen Road, which is up a private lane.

The police are also asking for help to find 15 sheep and 23 lambs taken from a field at Carnamuff Road in Ballykelly at some time in the last fortnight.

There have been several incidents of stolen donkeys in recent months.

In January, four female donkeys stolen from a field in County Down were discovered safe and well.

The animals, two of which were in foal, were taken from a field at Banbridge.

A fortnight earlier, four donkeys stolen in Tandragee last November were discovered in County Limerick.
