A petrol bomb attack in west Belfast is being linked to a bitter feud that has left one man dead.

As two men prepared to face a court charged with the murder of Gerard Devlin, 39, detectives were examining the scene of the blast at New Barnsley Crescent.

The property suffered scorch damage when the device smashed through a downstairs window at around 9pm last night. No one was injured.

Police believe the attack is part of the continued fall-out from the fatal stabbing of Mr Devlin, a father of six, in the neighbouring Ballymurphy Estate last Friday.

The men due in court today, aged 18 and 23, also face charges of affray and one faces an extra count of attempted murder.

Two other men have already appeared in court accused of the killing.
