City hotel cordoned off in alert

BBC

A hotel in Armagh has been cordoned off because of a security alert, police have said.

Army bomb experts are examining a vehicle at Friary Road, and the Armagh City Hotel has been sealed off.

Police have advised motorists to avoid the city centre and warned of congestion on routes into Armagh.

Meanwhile, in north Belfast Army bomb experts are examining a suspicious object on Cavehill Road. The road was closed but has now re-opened.
